The Breast Center of United Hospital has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. To achieve this designation, breast centers must be fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. United's Breast Center offers state-of-the-art digital mammography and breast ultrasound. Radiologists specializing in mammography are located in The Breast Center.
MammographyA mammogram is an x-ray picture of the breasts. It is used to find tumors and to help tell the difference between noncancerous (benign) and cancerous (malignant) disease.

Sage Screening ProgramThe Breast Center participates in the Minnesota Department of Health's Sage Screening Program. This program is dedicated to increasing the number of women who are screened for breast and cervical cancer. It provides free screening and follow-up services to uninsured and underinsured women.
