Traffic Plans for the Republican National Convention
During the Republican National Convention, September 1-4, 2008, United Hospital will be accessible and open for business. However, traveling to and from United Hospital will be impacted during this time. The following are suggested routes to United.
Please give yourself additional time for traveling.
All United ramps will remain open for hospital patients and visitors.
According to Metro Transit, there will be detours of some St. Paul routes during the convention. This will primarily affect rush-hour express bus service; others are all-day local routes. Please visit Metro Transit or call 612-373-3333 for more information.
Green roadways (Grand Avenue and Dale Street) represent full access routes; no road restrictions are expected.
Purple roadways (Smith Avenue, Shepard Road and Chestnut Street) represent partial access routes; some road restrictions are expected. If deemed necessary by convention officials, these routes may also be closed without prior notice to the public or area businesses.
Red roadways (Kellogg Boulevard, West Seventh Street and portions of Chestnut Street and Shepard Road) represent no access routes that will not be available for use; road closure and/or restrictions are established.
