United Hospital offers cancer patients and their families the services of an American Cancer Society (ACS) Navigator on site.
Vanessa Sovine, the ACS navigator at United Hospital, provides support and information for those who have received a cancer diagnosis, are undergoing treatment or are in recovery. She also can provide access to a variety of support groups and educational programs.
As a Navigator, Sovine offers free, timely, understandable information about cancer and treatment options to patients and their loved ones. She can refer patients to a variety of programs and services offered by the ACS and other organizations.
A Navigator can lend support and answer questions, such as:
What is the difference between the grade and stage of a tumor?
What are treatment options for my type of cancer?
Where can I find financial assistance to help with medical bills?
How will I get back and forth to my appointments?
Where do I go if I need a hospital bed or other equipment?
What do I do if I lose my hair?
To contact Sovine, please call 651-241-6408. For more information about the program or about other ACS programs, call toll-free at
