Heart Healthy Living Initiative
Satellite Owatonna Heart WalkMore than 60 area residents laced up their shoes and walked in the 2nd Annual Owatonna Satellite Heart Walk to help raise awareness and money for the American Heart Association on April 28, 2007 on the Kaplan's Woods Parkway. The local event was held in conjunction with the Twin Cities Start! Heart Walk at Harriet Island, St. Paul. Allina Hospitals & Clinics, was also a cause sponsor of the Start! walking program, the American Heart Association's groundbreaking national campaign that encourages people to live longer, heart-healthy lives through walking. Start! launched on Jan. 8, and celebrates the health benefits of increased physical activity, providing participants with resources to incorporate walking into your lifestyle.
